1. Who we are

Roamsurance is an independent insurance comparison platform that helps digital nomads, freelancers and remote workers abroad compare insurance from international carriers. We aim to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect

Roamsurance is a comparison platform. We collect only the minimum data needed to run the comparison and respond to enquiries.

We may collect:

• Quiz answers — your country, age band, destination, trip length, trip type and priorities. The quiz runs entirely in your browser and is used only to compute and display your comparison matches on screen. Answers are not sent to our servers and are not persisted in your browser between sessions.
• Contact form details — name, email, topic and message, only if you actually open and send the email. The form opens your email app with the message pre-filled and sends it to hello@roamsurance.com.

We do not collect, request, or store:

• Health information or medical declarations
• Income documents or financial records
• Payment card or bank details
• Insurance application, policy or claims data

When you click through to a carrier's website to get a quote or buy a policy, the carrier collects that information directly under their own privacy policy. Roamsurance does not see it.

3. How we use your data

We use the limited data above to:

• Show you comparison matches based on your quiz answers
• Respond to emails you send via the contact form
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or forward it to insurance carriers. When you choose a carrier, you go to that carrier's site yourself and interact with them directly.

4. Who we share data with

At present Roamsurance does not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, third-party analytics, persistent analytics storage, or any similar tool, and we do not share data with insurance carriers. The site does not load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or anything comparable.

The only third parties we may interact with are:

• Google Fonts — loaded from fonts.googleapis.com to render the site's typefaces. Google may see your IP address as part of the font request.
• Email providers — only if you send us an email; the email is then handled by whichever mail service we use to receive it.
• Regulators — if required by law.

If we add a website analytics tool in future, we will update this section and request your consent before any non-essential cookies or trackers are loaded.

Carriers receive your information only when you choose to click through and interact with them directly on their own website.

5. Your rights under GDPR

As a resident of the EU/EEA, you have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion — request that we delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — at any time, for processing based on consent

6. Cookies and local storage

Roamsurance does not currently set any cookies of its own, does not load third-party analytics or advertising cookies, does not load Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar or any similar tool, and does not use persistent analytics storage (cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage) in your browser. Your quiz answers are processed in your browser only to display your comparison matches on screen.

The site loads Google Fonts from fonts.googleapis.com for typography. This is not a cookie, but Google may see your IP address as part of that font request.

7. Data retention

We keep data only as long as needed:

• Quiz answers stay on your screen for the time you are using the quiz; they are not sent to our servers and not persisted between sessions.
• Contact emails are kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted (typically within 24 months).

8. Data security

We use HTTPS/TLS to protect data in transit. We do not receive or store sensitive insurance information — health declarations, financial records, payment details, applications and claims are handled directly by the carrier on the carrier's own website.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email (if we have your address) or by posting a notice on our website.
